Kick It Out! Competitive Dance Team General Information 2021-2022
Competitive dance is for the dedicated dancer that is willing and able to put in the time and energy necessary for success – Evaluations June 2021.
KIO! Competitive Dance Evaluation June 9,10,11
- Please complete registration packet online or send by email previous to evaluations.
- Cash or check only for registration $25.00.
- Must complete registration packet and sign team agreement to be considered for team.
- $100.00 deposit due at time of evaluation. Fee will go toward season competition fees.
- Dancers must attend Ballet evaluation & Skill evaluation.
- Solo, duo or trio evaluations will be by invite only. Dancers will be asked to improv as well as learn a combination. Dancers will also be asked a series of questions during the process.
- Be prepared for callbacks on Friday.

4:30 PM Ballet / Lyrical / Contemporary Evaluation
5:00 PM Skill Evaluation – Leaps, turns, jumps & tumbling
5:30 PM Hip Hop/Jazz/Musical Theater
6:00 PM Tap
Thursday June 10 Studio 3 – Ages 10+ or by recommendation
4:30 PM Ballet / Lyrical / Contemporary Evaluation
5:15 PM Skill Evaluation – Leaps, turns, jumps & tumbling
6:15 PM Hip Hop/ Jazz/Musical Theater
7:00 PM Tap
Friday Studio 3 June 11 – Callbacks & solo, duo or trio invites
4:30 PM Ages 5 – 9 callbacks
5:15 PM Solo, Duo & Trio
6:15 PM Ages 10+ callbacks
Full season Team for 2021-2022: for team dancers that want to compete on a full commitment scale!
- Ages 7+
- DANCER LEVEL OF COMMITMENT full team season: Approximately 5 – 8+ hours weekly (2-4 days Varies by age & groups) Additional practice time if necessary. Monday, Wednesday & Thursday classes.
- Team number required for ALL full team members!
- Full Team Requirements: Strength & Conditioning, Ballet technique, TLF & Team number class weekly.
- All team tap dancers must take tap technique.
- 45 min. & 60 min. classes.
- Three/four regional competitions, workshops required & nationals in summer TBD.
- Solo, Duo and Trios by invite only.
Intro Team 2021-2022 for team dancers that want to compete on a smaller commitment scale!
- Ages 7+
- DANCER LEVEL OF COMMITMENT intro team season: Approximately 2 – 5 hours weekly (2-3 days varies by age & groups) Additional practice time if necessary. Wednesday & Thursday classes.
- 10+ Intro Team Requirements: Strength & Conditioning, Ballet technique and TLF & Team number class weekly.
- All team tap dancers must take tap technique.
- 45 min. & 60 min. classes.
- Two regional competitions per season. Workshops highly recommended.
- Solo, Duo and Trios by invite only.
Mini / Junior Team 2021 – 2022
- Ages 5-9
- DANCER LEVEL OF COMMITMENT intro team season: Approximately 2 – 3 hours weekly (1-2 days varies by age & groups) Additional practice time if necessary. Monday & Wednesday classes.
- Ballet technique & TLF classes weekly (30 min. each class) with select style classes per evaluation by KIO! Instructor.
- Group classes are 45 min.
- All team tap dancers must take tap technique, mini level is 30 min. class.
- Two regional competitions per season. Workshops highly recommended.
- Solo, Duo and Trios by invite only.

- Working with, respecting teammates, director and instructors are important for success.
- Hard work and dedication are necessary for a well rounded teammate.
- Performing in front of an audience can be fun and help with building confidence.
- Gracefully receiving feedback is necessary and using that feedback for improvement is important.
- Appreciation for dance as an, understanding the competition experience is about growing as a dancer through skill and maturity.
- Displaying sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
