Julia is a Grand Valley State University Graduate with a Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Dance. She is currently attending Michigan State University for her Masters in Speech Language Pathology. Julia grew up dancing in metro Detroit at Geiger Ballet Academy then continued her training at Rochester School of Dance where her main focus was ballet, modern, lyrical, and contemporary. Julia was also a member of the Michigan Ballet Theatre where she performed roles as a company member and principal dancer. In 2016 Julia attended Youth American Grand Prix where she placed top 24 in senior classical division. During her high school years, Julia attended summer intensives at Ballet Chicago (2012), Joffery Ballet (2013), Pittsburg Ballet Theatre (2014 & 2015), and Ballet Detroit (2016). At Grand Valley she was a member of the Grand Valley Dance Department where she performed at the college level (2017). Julia also enjoyed teaching adaptive dance class at Rochester Avon Recreation Authority where she was able to create an inclusive dance class for people with special needs. Julia is excited to be a part of Kick It Out! where she will be teaching recreational ballet for juniors and preteen/teen.
