Zumba

The class that started the dance-fitness revolution and changed the way we look at “workout” forever. Zumba is an interval-style dance fitness party that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves. You’ll burn lots of calories as you move to the rhythm with Latin-inspired dance moves. The best part of it all is that it doesn’t even feel like exercise!

Strong Nation

STRONG Nation by Zumba is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that uses music to motivate students. It combines cardio and muscle-conditioning moves, all synced to the beat of high-energy music. The program utilizes original music and is designed to challenge participants to push past their limits and achieve a full-body transformation.

Barre Fitness

Barre fitness is a low-impact workout that combines elements of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength training to build muscle and improve flexibility. It typically involves small, controlled movements at a ballet barre or stable surface, with a focus on isometric contractions and stretching.

CIRCL Mobility by Zumba

CIRCL Mobility is a fitness program developed by Zumba that focuses on improving flexibility, mobility, and breathwork through functional movement exercisesIt aims to help individuals move better and longer by releasing physical restrictions, restoring range of motion, and renewing core capabilities. The program incorporates elements of mindfulness and community, offering classes that combine rhythmic movements, controlled breathing, and targeted exercises. 

Monday evening – 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM

Pound Fitness

Full-body Cardio Jam Session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming, great CORE training! POUND is a 45 minute group fitness class that combines cardio, strength training and Pilates with drumming to achieve a full-body workout. Using lightly weighted drumsticks, Ripstix™, participants can expect to burn between 500-900 calories per class and will be performing over 15,000 reps per session!

Saturday Morning – 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM

Zumba SenTAO

Zumba Sentao is a high-intensity workout that combines dance moves with strength and resistance training, using a chair as a prop and workout partnerThe class focuses on core work, muscle toning, and cardio, all while incorporating the energy of a Zumba party. The name “Sentao” is Spanish slang for “sitting,” referencing the chair’s role.

Danielle Germaine

Growing up I took many dance classes and found it to be a great stress reliever and fulfilling hobby. However, as I transitioned into adulthood, other things took priority as I went to college eventually earning my Masters in Counseling to become a licensed therapist. Over time, dance and fitness became a smaller part of my life until it was non-existent. The pandemic was a huge turning point for me, I knew I had to make some big changes but was terrified of the next steps. I started with fitness classes at Kick It Out as a student and everything changed for me, my fear and anxiety regarding fitness slowly melted away and I became immersed in a world of dance, movement and fitness and never looked back. After years of being a student, I felt  empowered to become a certified Zumba Instructor and did so in March 2023. As a therapist by day, I also feel working out needs to be about embracing your body and self, enjoying the movements and letting go of stress and expectations. Outside of Zumba, I enjoy spending time with my dog Lola, reading, gardening, painting, crafting and spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to dancing with you!

Carsyn Cantey

Carsyn is a Licensed Zumba Instructor and personal trainer, new to Michigan from Charleston, South Carolina. She has a degree in Theater Performance and Arts Management from College of Charleston, and has spent many years performing and dancing in various productions around Charleston. With 16 years of dance experience from styles varying from tap to pole dancing, she is excited to share her passion for fitness in the Lansing community! 

Molls Sanders

Molls grew up in the greater Lansing area and began dancing when she was 2 years old! She focused in all genres and even competed through highschool. Now she’s married to TJ, and a fur mom to two pups, Dante Wiggle Butt and Olaf Fluffy Butt. Sharing her passion for dance and fitness is something she’s always loved, and is excited to bring her style to KIO! Molls has fitness certifications in pretty much any fitness class offering there is, she can instruct it!! From Pound, Barre, and all the Zumba styles and offerings.
